Job Description:
Epic Special Education Staffing is seeking a compassionate and
skilled Sign Language Interpreter for the 2026-2027 school year to
provide essential communication services in special education
settings. This role is pivotal in facilitating the educational
engagement and social integration of students who are deaf or hard
of hearing. The ideal candidate will be proficient in American Sign
Language (ASL) and possess a deep understanding of educational
terminology and practices relevant to special education. Provide
accurate and clear interpretation between American Sign Language
and English in classroom settings and other school functions. Work
closely with teachers, administrators, and other educational staff
to ensure that the communication needs of deaf or hard of hearing
students are met. Participate in Individualized Education Program
(IEP) meetings as needed to discuss student progress and
accommodate communication requirements. Advise school staff on deaf
culture and effective communication strategies with deaf or hard of
hearing students. Maintain confidentiality and ethical standards of
practice at all times. Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)
Strong understanding of deaf culture Excellent interpersonal and
communication skills Ability to work collaboratively in an
educational environment Familiarity with special education
requirements and accommodations Medical Insurance Dental Insurance
Vision Insurance 401k Certification from the Registry of
Interpreters for the Deaf (RID) or equivalent State-specific
educational interpreter license, if applicable
