Our CAP courses provide credit toward the High School+ diploma, prepare students for the GED and transition directly into college-level Math and English coursework. Primary teaching responsibilities include contextualized CAP English and Math courses, depending on division needs and instructor's background. This position requires the use of a variety of instructional modalities and extensive use of technology.

This part-time position is an ongoing recruitment in which applications are collected year-round. Positions will be filled as program needs arise.

Position Responsibilities
Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Teach CAP English and/or Math classes utilizing techniques and knowledge of the discipline that facilitate student learning.
  • Effectively use computer applications for instruction, communication where appropriate and maintaining program compliance.
  • Maintain department curriculum standards.
  • Provide appropriate means to assess student progress and provide timely feedback.
  • Use appropriate teaching methods to respond to varying student learning styles.
  • Participate in relevant department activities supporting the teaching and learning environment.
  • Work well with people of all ages from academically, culturally, and socioeconomically diverse backgrounds.
  • Understand and commit to the mission of Clark College.

    Qualifications

    Position Requirements and Competencies:
    Candidates will be evaluated based on application materials, including the supplemental questions and personal interview(s), and will be required to demonstrate competencies in the following areas:

    Minimum Qualifications:
    • Master's Degree in Adult Education, Education, or related discipline.
    • Teaching experience.
    • Ability to work well with people of all ages from academically, culturally, and socioeconomically diverse backgrounds.Vaccination requirement: Per Washington State Proclamation 22-13.1: college employees must be fully vaccinated. Your COVID-19 vaccine attestation status must be received by the Human Resources office prior to the commencement of work.       Salary Statement: Lecture hourly rate is $78.48, and lab hourly rate is $67.03.
