Job Description:
Vice President, Chief Nursing Officer, Salmon Creek Medical
CenterUS-WA-VancouverJob ID: 22-25508Type: Regular Full-TimeSalmon
Creek Medical Ctr campusOverviewThe vice president, chief nursing
officer of Legacy Salmon Creek Medical Center, represents those
frontline employees who embody Legacy Health's transformative
belief in medicine: Its nurses. The chief nursing officer will help
lead the goal of maintaining the qualities, standards and ambitions
of the hospital system with the most five-star ratings in the
Pacific Northwest. (Legacy Salmon Creek, for example, has been
awarded a five-star rating by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid
Services, an "A" rating from The Leapfrog Group and a Top 50
hospital rating from Healthgrades.) The chief nursing officer
prizes, in word and deed, Legacy's belief in always being
patient-focused and people-centered. This means the chief nursing
officer will oversee Legacy Salmon Creek's entire impact on patient
needs through its nursing patient care programs, policies and
procedures. This leader will have a key, influential voice in the
hospital's strategic planning and will report directly to Legacy
Salmon Creek's president. The chief nursing officer has frontline
experience as a nurse but will also possess a background in health
care management. Like every Legacy leader, this individual will
know how to gauge and respect the staff's emotional temperature.
Fittingly - but not least - the chief nursing officer is committed
to the ideals of diversity, equity and inclusion and will always do
the right thing. The qualifications of Legacy Salmon Creek Medical
Center's vice president, chief nursing officer, reflect a dual
professional talent. On the one hand, this leader will have spent
many years in the clinical trenches as a nurse, with experiential
knowledge of the intricacies of what life is like on the frontlines
of health care. On the other, the chief nursing officer will have
spent time working behind the curtains, so to speak, as a leader,
manager and administrator. To that end, the chief nursing officer
will have a graduate degree in nursing and will have held an
administrative position in health care, including experience as a
clinical nursing leader. This candidate will be expected to act
consistently with Legacy's Values in Action and therefore must
exemplify the qualities of trust, collegiality and safety among
peers, colleagues and subordinates. We strive to be a diverse,
culturally responsive organization, and encourage individuals with
diverse backgrounds and those who promote diversity and inclusion
