Job Description:
Position Summary:Responsible for operations of the banquet
department, including managing banquet staff to ensure a successful
and effective operation resulting in a positive employee/guest
experience. Essential Functions:
- Review Banquet Event Orders for schedule of daily
functions.
- Prepare banquet rooms for assigned functions.
- Prioritize the basic needs of assigned functions.
- Perform both opening and closing procedures.
- Maintain appropriate levels of food and beverage items.
- Maintain good service times.
- Manage the selection, training, supervision, development,
discipline and termination of banquet employees.
- Prepare and conduct timely and accurate performance reviews
with staff.
- Schedule staff for banquet functions.
- Perform monthly inventory of all banquet equipment.
- Creatively solve unusual customer requests.
- Utilize knowledge of physical capabilities of banquet
space.
- Maintain labor costs to meet budget.
- Prepare and present bill to customer for function.
- Know basic bar terminology and wine service.
- Display knowledge of food preparation and service.
- Complete all necessary paperwork as assigned.
- Ensure equipment is in proper working order.
- Ensure that all doors and equipment are locked securely,
everything is turned off and keys are returned.Additional

- Keep work areas neat and organized.
- Conduct self in a professional manner at all times.
- Maintain a safe working environment and immediately report all
unsafe conditions.
- Maintain a good working relationship with other
departments.
- Comply with all policies and procedures set forth by the
property Employee Handbook.Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum of three years banquet/catering experience.
- Possession of government required licenses or
certificates.
- Knowledge and understanding of quality food service techniques
and standards.
- Knowledge of beverage cost control guidelines.
- Exceptional guest service skills.
- Ability to:
- Plan, organize and direct activities of employees.
- Use good judgment.
- Multi-task and work well under pressure.
- Maintain a professional appearance at all times.
- Problem-solve and deal courteously and tactfully with employees
and the general public.
- Work any day of the week and any hour.
- Work with minimal supervision.
- Communicate effectively.
- Work as part of a team.
- Receive and follow both verbal and written instructions.
Physical Requirements:6-8 hours: Standing/Walking 3-6 hours:
Crouching/Bending/Stooping, Lifting/Carrying (up to 50 lbs.),
