Job Description:
- The GM must comply with all aspects of the Employee Code of
Conduct, Management Business Standards, establishment policies, and
the GM work plan.
- Directly responsible for training, monitoring, providing
feedback to all staff and managers. Ensure that all staff maintain
the highest level of customer service.
- Effective staff management by maintaining good communications
with all staff, helping them efficiently carry out their duties and
comply with all corporate procedures. Effective leadership by
fostering an environment of team building and mutual respect.
Creating a family atmosphere amongst staff. Having a firm but fair
approach amongst the team. Constantly coaching of your team to make
each and every one of them their best when at work.
- Responsible for ensuring the highest standard of all marketing
activities that both reflect the brand and target the appropriate
market. Working with the marketing team to come up with
neighbourhood specific initiatives in addition to traditional
methods of marketing. Making sure all initiatives are implemented
effectively and on time.
- Recruiting and retaining staff, as well as scheduling the team
to provide the most effective service while maintaining a
predetermined payroll percentage.
- Fully responsible for the fiscal management of the store. This
includes but is not limited to meeting all budgeted Revenue and
Expense targets, continually working on ways to reduce controllable
costs, having a monthly meeting with managers to review month and
year-to-date fiscal data; bringing to the attention of managers
areas that are not meeting budget targets. Working with managers at
year end to set the budgets for the upcoming year.
- Weekly meetings with management team to go over all aspects of
the business. Profit, product, environment, people, issues etc.
Constant clear communication with management team in order to
execute plans and achieve expected performance.
- Responsible for the overall environment of the store. This
encompasses all building and equipment deficiencies and cleanliness
of all areas, as well as the exterior of the building and parking
lot.
- Ensure that all staff comply with all corporate policies.
- Constant communication with all staff is essential. Making sure
team is having pre shift meetings so they are focused on what their
tasks for that shift are. Communication with ownership to ensure
everyone is always on the same page.
- Other responsibilities as assigned.Requirements
- 5+ years of leadership experience in a related customer service
environment
- Strong work ethic, business acumen and focus on profit
maximization
- Demonstrated ability to achieve store sales targets and
profitability
- Strong leadership skills
- Experience as a strong mentor to management staff
- Demonstrated ability to foster a positive, engaged
workforce
- Active support within the community you serve
- Strong computer skills including MS Excel and POS systems
