Our Senior Management team is looking for a Director for Indigenous
Relations to join us in Vancouver as soon as possible.
What You Get To Do
--- Responsible to proactively build and maintain working relations
and partnership initiatives with local Indigenous communities and
businesses;--- Identify, research, and propose opportunities for
strategic partnerships;--- Co-ordinate Indigenous procurement,
training, apprenticeship, and employment opportunities for
projects;
--- Assist with the development of internal & external
communications and presentations to highlight Indigenous Relations'
initiatives;--- Contribute to business cases for investment and
partnership;
--- Ensures all operating policies, procedures and priorities are
understood and consistently applied;--- Collaborate with and
support the Regional Leads where appropriate;--- Coordinates and
assists in recruiting training, coaching and empowering team
members;--- Actively takes part in the organisation and lead team
meetings;--- Commitment to the highest standard of quality in all
aspects;--- Regular interaction with Regional Director to develop
targeted marketing strategy to secure new mandates;
--- Conducts continuous business development opportunities;---
Networks regularly promoting the business, cross-selling and
building new contacts and clients.
What You'll Bring
--- 10+ years of relevant experience;--- Degree in Indigenous
Studies or comparable field;--- 5 years of management or leadership
experience;--- Experience working with Indigenous communities in
British Columbia;--- Political Savvy: Can maneuver through complex
political situations effectively and tactfully while being
sensitive to how people, organizations, and culture's function;---
Passion and commitment to work towards building longstanding
relationships with communities that extend far beyond projects
completion;--- Excellent analytical and interpersonal skills
combined with sound judgment and initiative;--- Cross-cultural
agility - awareness of/sensitivity to diverse Indigenous culture
and history;
--- Hold a valid driver's license;
--- Ability to build strong working relationships across all
levels.
