Medical Director/Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist
Agency Overview
Children's Center was founded in 1989 by a group of concerned
citizens to serve the community by providing quality outpatient
mental health services to children, adolescents and families.
Located in Vancouver, WA Children's Center is a place of healing
and health that welcomes all. We provide critical, life-changing
services to vulnerable children and youth and their family
members.
We are currently seeking a highly skilled and innovative child and
adolescent psychiatrist to serve as our Medical Director. The
Medical Director is responsible for psychiatric oversight and
supporting outpatient clinical operations and contributes to the
overall vision and program development of the agency. Working in a
community mental health outpatient setting, the medical director is
an integral part of a collaborative team which includes licensed
therapists, the clinical and executive directors, and other
prescribing staff members.
Responsibilities and Duties
1. Performs psychopharmacological evaluations of clients for
medication services.
2. Provide non- face-to-face services that may include, but not be
limited to phone contact with physicians, pharmacies; clients
and/or parents/guardians.
3. Review, prescribe and monitor medication of clients.
4. Provide dictation/documentation of all client-related
contacts.
5. Provide program consultation and development. Help to create new
programs to support the mental health of our children and youth in
our community. In a world where there is so much need for mental
health treatment, exploring other treatment delivery methods is
crucial.
6. Work with the Executive Director to foster a partnership with a
psychiatry fellowship program with the goal of supervising fellows
on-site of Children's Center, thus increasing access to care for
our clients.
7. Provide case consultation and training as requested.
8. Provide coordination, education and collaboration with local
primary care providers and pediatricians.
9. Participate in agency's Quality Management process, as
needed.
10. Provide after-hours phone availability on an as-needed
basis.
11. Provides consultation to clinicians regarding diagnostic
impressions and psychopharmacological recommendations.
12. Prepares and maintains clinical case records and all required
documentation according to clinic guidelines.
13. Ensures Agency Confidentiality and Professional Code of Ethics
policies are followed.
14. Maintains all billing and client documentation as required by
Medicaid, insurances, etc. including prior authorizations when
needed.
15. Adheres to state and federal licensing requirements and
maintains appropriate CEU's for licensing.
Qualifications:
Board Certified or Board Eligible Child and Adolescent
Psychiatry.
Three to five years direct practice with juvenile/young adult
population preferred.
