DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Demonstrates and promotes the highest quality patient care by all members of the patient care team. Provides direct patient care in the HCC as required. Promotes a team concept as the liaison with other departments helping to coordinate care with other disciplines. Also promotes a positive work environment for all staff and empowers members to participate in decision making regarding unit function. Utilizes appropriate communication lines to problem solve departmental issues. Maintains close rapport with the physician concerning patient status. Monitors and promotes routine visits during the patient's hospitalization. Ensures that physicians see acute care patients in the HCC every 48 hours, and that physicians' orders are signed off within 48 hours of admission. Responsible for all medications and treatments provided by team members. Regularly inventories and keeps adequate medication stock available. Responsible for patient and staff safety and is always alert to environmental and mechanical problems. Reports these to the Director and/or maintenance staff. Participates in coordinating fire drills in the facility with particular attention to the HCC as assigned by the Director. Encourages use of good body mechanics while providing patient care. Strong ability to organize and delegate responsibility. Excellent written and verbal communication skills and proficient in teaching others. All staff driving on agency business is required to have a valid driver license and proof of current vehicle insurance. Current TB screening. Active CPR certification. Job Requirements:
