Job Description:

Our Ambulatory Surgery Center is growing! We are looking for an experienced post-anesthesia nurse to provide excellent patient care. Will work 4 x 10-hour shifts, Monday - Friday.

Responsible for the delivery of safe, effective, and quality patient-family centered care in the post anesthesia care unit (PACU) and other areas of perioperative services for all patient populations.


* Assess patient's postoperative status at intervals according to facility or health care organization policies and procedures to include the patient's cardiovascular system, respiratory system and airway management needs, neurological system, hemodynamic stability, pain and comfort needs, and mental status.
* Interpret information accurately from various noninvasive and invasive monitors.
* Describe the underlying pathophysiology of commonly encountered disease processes.
* Describe the physiology associated with various anesthesia techniques and surgical or procedural interventions.
* Apply the relevant scoring system/discharge criteria for patient transfer (eg, Aldrete Score, Modified Aldrete Score [ie, PARSAP], Post Anesthesia Discharge Scoring System [PADSS], White) score accurately as defined by organizational policy.
* Develop an individualized perianesthesia plan of care.
* Implement the plan of care.
* Evaluate the patient's progress toward attaining outcomes.
* Transfer care as needed.


* Graduate from an accredited school of nursing, Bachelor's degree in nursing preferred.
* Current Unencumbered WA State RN license.
* Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
* Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required. (must obtain within 60 days of hire)
* Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification required. (must obtain within 60 days of hire)
* Certified Post Anesthesia Nurse (CPAN) or Certified Ambulatory Perianesthesia Nurse (CAPA) certification preferred or willing to obtain.
* Two years post-anesthesia care experience preferred.
* Conscious Sedation experience a plus.
* Use of Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
