Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) - Occupational Medicine at Samaritan Health Services summary:
The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in Occupational Medicine assists practitioners with procedures, manages patient records, and provides safe nursing care under supervision. This role is vital for addressing work-related health needs and ensuring compliance with OSHA regulations. The LPN must possess strong communication skills, be adaptable in high-risk situations, and demonstrate knowledge of medical terminology while working collaboratively in a healthcare team.
Summary *Time will be split between Lincoln City and Newport Clinic locations.

This position -will receive an hourly differential (additional compensation) -in addition to the base hourly rate. - - - - -




JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE



Assists practitioner in performance of procedures, telephone prescription orders/refills, maintaining patient record and relaying test results. Provides safe and quality nursing care under the direction of SHS practitioners and the Clinic Supervisor within scope of practice.




DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION



Samaritan Occupational Medicine serves the health and safety needs of employers and employees in Linn, Benton and Lincoln Counties. Designed to meet the specific requirements within different occupations, Samaritan Occupational Medicine helps employers and employees gain control over work-related injuries and provides OSHA required medical surveillance and employer requested services.




EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS



Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) licensure required.


Healthcare Provider BLS required.


Previous experience in clinical setting preferred.


Lab/EKG experience preferred.

Communication - Effective written and oral communication skills to explain complex issues, exchange information between team members, and tactfully discuss issues. Ability to perform group presentations and listen to and understand complex information and ideas.


Team Building - Ability to work, function and communicate on a multi-disciplinary team. Possess the knowledge and skills to develop constructive and cooperative working relationships with others and maintain them over time.


Medical Terminology - -Knowledge of medical records, procedures and terminology. Ability to read, interpret, and apply policies, procedures, laws, and regulations.


Social Perceptiveness - Ability to work with a diverse population from pediatrics to geriatrics. Basic understanding of age-related differences in caring for and/or communicating with patients and caregivers. Possess personal sensitivity to the needs and experiences of others and a non-judgmental attitude towards persons of differing standards, values, lifestyles, and ages.
