Schedule: 8:00 am - 4:30 pm Monday - Friday Your role with usThe
pharmacy supply chain supervisor plays a critical role in
overseeing pharmacy operations, specifically medication
procurement, inventory management, and distribution, to ensure
seamless delivery of pharmaceutical care throughout Salem Health.
This position requires strong analytical and leadership skills to
optimize inventory practices, ensure compliance with regulatory
requirements, and drive cost-effective distribution processes. By
leveraging data-driven methods and collaborating with
cross-functional teams, the supervisor contributes to the delivery
of high-quality patient care.What you'll do
- Supervise, direct, analyze, evaluate, delegate, and assist with
tasks involving system-wide pharmacy purchasing, inventory, and
medication distribution.
- Oversee medication procurement, inventory, and distribution
processes; develop and implement process improvements to optimize
pharmacy supply chain.
- Perform procurement-related technical duties, monitor and
maintain product par levels, identify, mitigate, and resolve drug
shortages.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements including yet
not limited to those overseen by the Oregon Board of Pharmacy, Drug
Enforcement Administration (DEA), Drug Supply Chain Security Act
(DSCSA), and the 340B program.
- Coordinate purchasing activities with committees and
stakeholders.
- Assist with contract negotiations and cost savings
strategies.
- Lead influenza vaccine strategy and recall management
system.
- Oversee reverse distribution procedures.
- Develop and maintain processes for compliance and inventory
optimization.
- Maintain Omnicell database and optimize medication distribution
processes.
- Collect and analyze data to optimize inventory practices and
financial stewardship.
- Audit data to evaluate supplier performance and
compliance.
- Develop working relationships with internal stakeholders and
educate/train others on purchasing processes.Required
qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or associate's degree in a related field with
two years of industry-related experience, or four years of
industry-related experience may be substituted for lack of
education.
- Minimum of three years of pharmacy technician experience.
- State of Oregon certified pharmacy technician
licensure.Additional information
- Successful candidates will exhibit broad-based knowledge of
340B guidelines and program requirements and Food and Drug
Administration (FDA) rules, regulations and/or laws as they pertain
to ordering and documenting pharmaceutical purchases.
- Finalists will be able to speak to their ability to establish
working relationships with other hospital entities and specialty
suppliers that support emergent procurement of product when
necessary.
- Knowledge and experience working with Epic, 340B third-party
administrator (TPA) systems, and other pharmacy-related software is
vital to this supervisory position.
- This role supervises the following positions: Pharmacy
Purchasing Specialists, Omnicell Analyst, Pharmacy Technician.Total
