Specialist (APRN) - Emergency Department The Senior Clinical Nurse
Specialist (CNS) is an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN).
CNSs are leaders in health care and improve the outcomes of the
organization by functioning through the three spheres of influence
– patient, nurse, and system. The CNS demonstrates an advanced
level of professional competence in a specialized area of nursing
practice. The CNS influences care outcomes by providing expert
consultation and implementing improvements in patient care
delivery. Specifically, the CNS leads in the development of nursing
practice that incorporates established national specialty practice
guidelines, regulatory requirements, an interdisciplinary
framework, outcomes from nursing and healthcare research, best
practices change in healthcare that impact patient care delivery;
and advances in technology that support efficient and effective
patient care. The key roles of the CNS include practitioner,
educator, leader, consultant and researcher. With a primary focus
on patient care and staff practice within the specialty patient
population, the CNS works collaboratively system-wide with nursing,
service lines and other patient care departments. Required: 2 years
experience Master's Degree National Provider BLS Oregon Registered
Nurse License Oregon Advanced Practice – Clinical Nurse Specialist
License Certification as Clinical Nurse Specialist in area of
specialty
