Job Description:

SJS Executives, LLC (SJS), also doing business as SJS Industrial, is currently seeking a reliable MRI Technologist to work full time for SJS Executives supporting ongoing facilities operations at a local Veteran’s Affairs Hospital in Portland, OR & Vancouver, WA. We are a Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) with 250 employees coast to coast and a headquarters in Virginia Beach, Virginia; we specialize in professional services to support federal and military organizations. Due to the nature of this position, must be willing to commit to a minimum six (6) month assignment. Responsibilities: Perform advanced MRI imaging procedures following complex protocols prescribed by MRI Radiologists, including imaging of the head, neck, spine, chest, abdomen, and upper and lower extremities. Operate superconductive Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) equipment, utilizing strong magnetic fields and radiofrequency technology to acquire diagnostic images. Ensure strict adherence to all safety procedures, recognizing and reporting unsafe conditions or safety violations immediately. Receive and prepare patients for imaging procedures by verifying identity, confirming non-pregnancy status when applicable, and explaining procedures to ensure patient understanding and cooperation. Select and adjust technical imaging parameters and accessory equipment in accordance with established imaging criteria. Produce and evaluate diagnostic images for quality, positioning, and proper patient identification before submission. Enter patient and examination data into the Decentralized Hospital Computer System (DHCP) and maintain accurate imaging documentation. Maintain records of examinations performed, imaging views obtained, and technical settings used during procedures. Perform a range of diagnostic imaging examinations under the direction of a Radiologist, including chest, joints, extremities, and other specialized studies as required. Inspect imaging equipment prior to procedures to ensure proper operation and report equipment malfunctions to the physician or technical supervisor. Prepare imaging rooms by ensuring sterile supplies, contrast materials, catheters, and other required equipment are available and properly arranged. Maintain compliance with infection control standards and ensure exam rooms remain clean and properly stocked. Provide portable imaging services throughout the medical facility while ensuring radiation safety precautions are communicated to nearby staff and visitors. Document and report unusual events occurring within Diagnostic Imaging Services to the on-call Radiologist or supervisory technologist. Ensure patient safety during imaging procedures, including proper patient handling and movement. Provide courteous and professional customer service to patients, visitors, and medical staff. Assist with patient scheduling coordination, verification of appointments, and responding to department inquiries when necessary. Participate in on-call rotations and provide after-hours imaging services in emergency situations when scheduled. Follow Diagnostic Imaging Service (DIS) policies for after-hours imaging requests across modalities including CT, MRI, Ultrasound, and Diagnostic Radiology. Communicate after-hours concerns to appropriate on-call Radiologists, Chief Technologists, or affiliated teaching institutions when required. Document after-hours situations and communicate details to the Chief Technologist for follow-up. Qualifications: In accordance with federal regulations, possession of a valid Real ID is a requirement for this position. Successful completion of an accredited educational training program in which technologists are certified as Diagnostic Radiologic Technologists by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) and must be certified for their specialty. Minimum two (2) years of experience operating diagnostic radiology equipment under the supervision of a Radiologist or medical officer. Recent experience as an MRI Technologist in a hospital or clinical laboratory setting within the past six (6) months. Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification. Proof of current Professional Liability insurance. Provide three (3) references. Must be a US Citizen Must satisfy all additional federal, VA, and facility-specific credentialing requirements. Must be able to successfully pass a drug test and a thorough background check for access onto a military installation; please note the background check for this position extends past 7 years, in conformance with federal law and US Department of Justice guidelines for work on a military installation.
