System Administrator Date Posted: 1/7/2022 Job Function: Technology City: Vancouver State/Province: Washington Job Number: JO-2201-10152 Overview:ACS Professional Staffing is looking for an employee to work on-site with our client. The System Administrator 3 position is responsible for the safe, reliable, and open access operation and dispatch of the high voltage transmission system and interconnected generation. This position will be working as part of a team responsible for the administration and implementation of Tripwire enterprise with a focus on advanced TripWire Enterprise administration and configuration. The teams' overall goal is towards enhancing and further refining TripWire infrastructure as it is related to application database, machine logs, troubleshooting, management reporting, compliance, and customer queries.This full-time position is located in Vancouver, WA. Responsibilities:+ Configuring applicable software and systems, maintaining local documentation, installing software, applying change control processes and procedures, planning, and preparing for future growth + Architecture, design, implementation, maintenance, and support of Tripwire + Architect and design Tripwire enterprise with future growth in mind to facilitate a balance between scalability, performance, stability, reliability, and agility.+ Configuration management and control of maintenance architectural changes to Tripwire. + Monitoring Tripwire Enterprise system updates and planning, reviewing, and executing patch deployments.+ Operations monitoring of Tripwire and associated agents to facilitate proactive issue identification and resolution.+ Provide production and infrastructure support, root cause analysis, troubleshooting, health monitoring, etc.+ Defining, developing, implementing, and monitoring process and procedures for to support and maintain Tripwire Enterprise+ Linux infrastructure (deployment services, CentOS)+ Configure and troubleshoot Tripwire security application.+ Guide and support application teams with onboarding, troubleshoot and resolve implementation issues + Configure Tripwire to operate and discover security, application, and operating system related items.+ Optimize Tripwire to capture data and events, filter out unneeded items, and configure tripwire application itself to run efficiently. + Help with investigating connectivity issues and recommend corrective action.+ Liaise with security, compliance & application teams to understand and implement monitoring solutions to comply with required standards.+ Handle product version upgrades and agent upgrades while adhering to change management guidelines.+ Focus on continual evaluation and process improvement and maximizing TripWire capabilities to increase value to Information Technology cross-functional teams.+ Work with Information Technology cross-functional teams to confirm that TripWire agents are deployed and are continuously reporting.+ Assist in standardizing Tripwire agent deployment, configuration, log aggregation, and maintenance across a variety of platforms to include UNIX, Windows, VM Ware, SQL, Oracle, and other environments.+ Monitor the agents and server infrastructure for capacity planning and optimization.+ Develop software applications in conformance with the adopted department methodologies+ Develop and execute software test plans as directed.+ Develop software and application documentation confirming to department standards.+ Provide input and recommendations, to the manager, technical lead, and staff, regarding computer infrastructure decisions and create tasks to fulfill management-directed goals.+ Develop all work products will be in the Departments required template format.+ Assesses issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives. + Perform regular assessments of newly discovered vulnerabilities on a wide range of + Implement, design, and maintain least privileged and role-based access control models.+ Develop improvements to the Control Center's procedures and processes for Grid Modernization project+ Assist with the implementation and promotion of operational compliance process improvement effortsRequirements:+ A degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a directly related technical discipline is preferred.+ With an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in applicable fields, 5 years of experience is required.+ Without an applicable degree, 10 years of experience is required.+ Experience must include direct hands-on work experience in Information Technology performing System Administration.+ Must have 5 years of hands-on experience with TripWire configuration, management, troubleshooting+ Strong working knowledge of Tripwire Enterprise+ Experience configuring and troubleshooting Tripwire security application.+ Experience configuring Tripwire to operate and discover security, application, and operating system related items.+ Experience in optimizing Tripwire to capture data and events, filter out unneeded items, and configure tripwire application itself to run efficiently. + Experience in configuring and reviewing Tripwire to filter out, confirm, and/or identify false positives.+ Experience in documenting Tripwire operations, configurations, and changes.+ Experience testing and recommending changes for Tripwire operation and security.+ Experience in configuring Tripwire to report and alert thru external systems + Strong analysis and decision-making skills with the ability to identify opportunities to manage Tripwire tool, participate in technical cross-functional sessions, and verify adherence to change and configuration management principles. + Basic OS knowledge and server administration experience in a range of platforms + Basic knowledge of Networking (for troubleshooting and configuration purposes) + Basic knowledge of NIST and FISMA standards. NERC CIP standards knowledge preferred, but not required.+ Experience includes a minimum combination of work-related experience, on-the-job training, and/or vocational training.+ 3 to 5 years' experience with Linux (CentOS), Unix (RedHat), Windows, VMWare, Database such as SQL, Oracle, and other platforms+ Working knowledge and experience sufficient to successfully support and maintain a virtualized and converged compute environment.+ Working knowledge and experience sufficient to successfully support, maintain, and troubleshoot enterprise Windows infrastructure using active directory, group policy, PowerShell, and other Windows utilities. + Self-starter, able to gather requirements, plan, execute Tripwire architecting and deployment efforts. Able to perform gap analysis and initiate and execute architectural improvements.+ Holds Tripwire Certified Professional certification.+ Hands-on experience architecting, building, deploying Tripwire instances.+ Hands-on experience administering, maintaining, and scaling Tripwire Enterprise+ Hands-on experience with scripting languages such as XML, Pearl, Python or Bash etc.+ Working knowledge and understanding of network infrastructure components such as routers, switches, firewalls etc.+ Working knowledge and understanding of networking and switching protocols and infrastructure services able to troubleshoot and identify DNS, NTP, routing, switching, and firewall issues affecting connectivity of Tripwire instances.+ Customer-oriented with excellent issue follow-through and resolution abilities.+ Excellent written and oral communication, and presentation skills.+ Utilize tools and analytical skills to plan and execute technical changes. + Experience troubleshooting LAN connectivity problems.+ Experience using specific technologies such as Splunk, Remote Desktop Services, IIS, Wireshark, App-V, Tripwire, Trend Micro, LANDesk, Sysinternals Tools, Puppet Enterprises, Checkpoint Firewall, Veeam backup, HP, and Cisco server hardware, KVM hardware, PowerShell.+ Experience with tools such as ServiceNow, ChangeGear or Cherwell + Familiarity with APIs and scripting+ Fundamental understanding of firewalls & end-to-end IT architecture+ Knowledge of compliance and regulatory policies+ Valid U.S. Driver's License is required.+ Work after hours, weekends and holidays as needed to support issues or planned activities.+ May be required to carry a supplied cell phone and work non-core hours when requested. + Work sponsorship not available at this time.
