Observability Cloud, a combination of the SignalFx and Omnition
acquisitions, is a new generation of application performance
management, infrastructure monitoring, and log observer solutions
for microservices and distributed applications. We work on new,

inside the company.As a Software Engineer on the Splunk
Observability team, you will be responsible for making
OpenTelemetry the standard way of instrumenting and collecting all
telemetry data, including traces, metrics, and logs. In this role,
you will drive major architectural and performance improvements to
the collection components to enable the community to build an
ecosystem of collection plugins and out-of-the-box integrations.
You will be expected to provide thought leadership to the project
and community and be recognized as a major contributor on your own
while also representing the company.Our engineering teams are

blogs.Responsibilities+ Contribute to and drive leadership in the
OpenTelemetry project+ Implement critical functionality to extend
and optimize the platform+ Managing all aspects of the open-source
community, including design specifications, release management,
testing, support, and documentation.Requirements+ Strong experience
with modern application development workflows and version control
systems like GitHub, Gitlab, or Bitbucket+ Experience programming
in Go or other similar languages+ Experience working on open-source
or development-in-the-open projects is a plus+ Working knowledge of
Kubernetes and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, and/or Azure)+ 5+ years
of Software Engineering experience+ B.S. in Computer Science or
