Quality Assurance Specialist - Posting 20-050 Major Duties: The Quality Assurance Coordinator works under the direct supervision of the Chief Quality Officer. This position serves to maintain and improve the quality of care and treatment to all patients, track incident reporting and trending, establish schedules and methods to track contract deliverables, monitor progress and performance to ensure services conform to contract requirements and meet compliance with regulatory agencies. In fulfilling these duties, the incumbent performs the following duties independently: --- Develop systems and collects, evaluates and maintains data concerning incident reports, patient injuries, medication errors, claims, and other risk related data; --- Investigate and analyze root causes, patterns, or trends that could result in compensatory or critical events; --- Assist in the development and implementation of the internal control procedures to provide responsible and ethical management of the agency's assets and resources; --- Serve as the Committee chair of the QA & I Committee and the CARF Committee; --- Assist in setting quality assurance compliance objectives and coordinate with the management team to help ensure targets are achieved; --- Monitor performance by gathering relevant data and producing statistical reports; --- Conduct random clinical file reviews for documentation to support billing and clinical requirements and outcomes; --- Make recommendations for change and improvements to existing standards and procedures; --- Coordinate with Program Directors to track contract deliverables and monitor progress and performance; --- Maintain familiarity with and follow the guidelines cited in the Washington Administrative Codes (WACs) and Revised Codes (RCWs) pertaining to substance use and mental health treatment and CARF Standards; implement policies and procedures to comply with the codes and regulations; --- Ensure the agency programs are maintained to be in substantial compliance with the Division of Behavioral Health and Recovery (DBHR), the Department of Health (DOH) certification reviews and reporting; --- Other duties as assigned. Requirements: --- Master's degree in behavioral health field; --- Licensed Mental Health Clinician or equivalent preferred; --- Ability to meet the licensing requirements of a Substance Use Dependency Professional preferred; --- Minimum of three years' experience or demonstrated quality leadership capability in a behavioral health agency; --- Experience with CARF accreditation or experience working in a CARF accreditation agency preferred; --- Experience working with and Electronic Health Record and/or strong computer skills; --- Knowledge of statistics, data collection, analysis, and data presentation; --- Knowledge of federal and state laws and regulations and accreditation standards; --- Must possess strong analytical skills, problem solving and decision making skills; --- Ability to coach, motivate and drive teams to measurable success; --- Current unencumbered driver license and proof of current car insurance may be required; --- Good verbal and written communication skills; --- Great attendance; and --- Ability to work well with others.
