Advanced Practice Provider – Breast Cancer Support Compass Oncology, the largest private practice cancer care center in the Pacific Northwest, is looking for an Advanced Practice Provider (APP) for a unique opportunity to support their Breast Cancer department. Primarily working with Dr. Magdolna Solti, one of our top physicians who focuses on Breast Cancer patients, you will help her guide patients along the various treatment paths Compass offers to the community. The position will also get an opportunity to support patients enrolled in our High Risk Breast clinic – a specialized clinic for individuals not et diagnosed, but at a higher risk for potential oncological issues. In addition, this role will work with Dr. Storm-Dickerson - one of the nations top surgeons in the field of breast cancer surgery – providing pre-op and post-op care and support. Employment Type: Full Time, 1.0 FTE (approx. 40hr/week) Benefits: M/D/V, Life Ins., 401(k) Location: Vancouver, WA Physician Assistant SCOPE: Under supervision of the physician, provides primary care in collaborative joint practice with the physicians to patients and/or family members in the hospital setting on a regular basis, and within the practice setting as requested by physicians. Supports and adheres to the US Oncology Compliance Program, to include the Code of Ethics and Business Standards. Physician Assistant ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Assesses, plans, implements and evaluates care for individual patients. Initiates and documents appropriate interventions; evaluates and records patient/family response within practice protocol; prescribes drug therapies per protocol/physician consultation. Assists physicians and performs procedures as needed; conducts patient assessments and provides physician with information prior to seeing the patient. Assesses patient/family needs and provides education. Promotes wellness and recommends community resources to meet patient and family needs. Promotes/provides staff education. Provide support and education for patients enrolled in the High Risk Breast Clinic. Provides Pre-Op and Post-Op care, education, and support of patients undergoing surgery related to a breast cancer diagnosis. Incorporates evidence-based research into clinical practice. Knowledgeable of reimbursement procedures and documentation requirements. Completes patient charge tickets. May mentor new mid-level providers. Physician Assistant MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Successful completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program. Minimum of three (3) years practicing as a licensed Physician Assistant. Experience practicing in an oncology setting preferred. Experience in surgery setting strongly preferred. Current state license as a Physician Assistant in practicing state. BCLS. Nurse Practitioner SCOPE: Provides primary care in collaborative joint practice with the physicians to oncology patients. Scope of responsibility includes expert practitioner, educator/teacher, care management, consultant, nurse researcher, and nurse leader. Supports and adheres to the US Oncology Compliance Program, to include the Code of Ethics and Business Standards. Nurse Practitioner ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Assesses, plans, implements and evaluates care for individual patients. Provides case management for oncology clients and their families. Provide support and education for patients enrolled in the High Risk Breast Clinic. Provides Pre-Op and Post-Op care, education, and support of patients undergoing surgery related to a breast cancer diagnosis. Serves as a resource person for the nursing staff by providing information being studied in clinical trials. May supervise the activities of clinical nursing and support staff. May mentor new mid-level providers Nurse Practitioner MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Masters of Science in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited program for nursing education and successful completion of a Nurse Practitioner program. Minimum of three (3) years practicing as a licensed Nurse Practitioner. Experience practicing in an oncology setting preferred. Experience in surgery setting strongly preferred. Experience and knowledge in the management of the physiologic and psychological effects of cancer diagnosis and subsequent treatment. RN state license and current registration with the State Board of Nursing in practicing state. Current state certification of Nurse Practitioner. Current CPR certification required. AOCN certification required.
