Headquartered in Vancouver, WA, nLIGHT employs over 1,000 people with operationsin the U.S., China, and Finland.Mechanical Engineering Technician IJob SummaryWork closely with engineering team to build and test prototype systems and tooling stationsExecute verification test protocols that include environmental and accelerated life testingOversee the procurement of engineering and prototype partsQualifications Previous experience with fiber lasers strongly desired including fiber splicing and building and testing modules and systemsUse of Excel and other MS Office software is requiredCandidate shall be highly organized and detail-oriented with clear and professional written and oral communication skillsCandidate should be self-motivated and able to work with minimal guidanceSuccessful candidates will demonstrate an eagerness to learn and a strong mechanical aptitudeThe most qualified candidates will have:Experience splicing optical fiber and testing fiber laser modules and systemsExperience with SolidWorks and the creation of simple engineering drawingsThe ability to set up and run data acquisition equipmentAssociate degree in Mechanical Engineering or related fieldnLIGHT is subject to US Export Control regulations.
