SEH AMERICA ENGINEERING PROCESS TECHNICIAN SEH America is located in Vancouver, Washington. It is one of 13 Shin-Etsu Handotai Group (SEH) facilities located around the world. SEH is the world-leader in the manufacturing of silicon wafers for the semiconductor industry.At SEH America, our philosophy and success rest upon our commitment to excellence, quality of service and product to our customers, and a safe working environment for our employees.JOB DUTIES-Evaluate, process, and act on data as assigned to ensure efficient operations. Recommend changes to maintain process integrity and quality standards. Develop/implement process improvements.-Conduct tests, gather data, and test processes/product for conformance to specifications.-Run qualification tests on equipment.-Compile data and produce rank qualification reports.-Collect and analyze data or samples using standard industrial methods and precision measuring instruments.-Compile, verify, and analyze data and test results using SPC and statistical analysis techniques. May present findings to production, engineering, or support groups.-Document and revise new equipment use and processes in conjunction with SEH-A staff.-Create/review/revise SOPs/SOCs and other controlled documents.-Work with training staff to revise area training manuals and materials. May assist with floor training.-May program/modify programming of process equipment using relevant software tools depending on type of process equipment used in assigned work area.-Other assigned duties dependent on specific process/tools.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS-AS degree in engineering related field plus 2+ yrs related work experience in a process manufacturing environment OR 5+ yrs related work experience, OR an equivalent combination of education/technical training, and related work experience.-Experience with statistical data analysis techniques including SPC experience using software tools such as JMP.Knowledge of various quality control methodologies.-Proven data manipulation and analysis skills.-Excellent oral and written communication skills.-Proficient with Word, Excel.-Ability to perform hands-on tool trouble-shooting, tool recovery, and basic PM items.-Ability to work in clean room environment.-Must be able to interface and work well with others including: engineering, production, facilities, etc.-Travel to Japan may occur. Ability to obtain a passport and travel to Japan (with possible stop in Canada) is required.DESIRED KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / EXPERIENCE-Clean line/wet bench experience a plus.WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSMust be able to read, comprehend, and execute complex instructions and safety procedures. Must be able to work in a clean room environment wearing clean room suite, hood, booties, safety glasses and gloves. May require the use of hands to finger, grasp, handle or feel objects, tools and controls. Kneeling, bending and crouching positions, as well as the lifting of parts and use of hand tools in such positions, may be required. Occasionally lifts up to 25 lbs. Must be able to work on a computer for extended periods of time. Frequent sitting for long intervals.
