Position Overview:

Serve the needs and provide residential rehabilitation services to clients with severe and persistent mental illness as well as co-occurring disorders. Ensure a safe milieu environment and respond to crisis situations as they arise. Develop, monitor, evaluate, and update individual rehabilitation plans in conjunction with client and treatment team.

Essential Job Functions:

Read staff log, check mail, email, and phone messages each shift. Admit stabilization clients as needed and complete all related admission paperwork upon arrival. Monitor milieu for safety and work with residents as needed in order to assist them in managing their symptoms. Provide residential shift services such as locking building at curfew, bed checks, security check, laundry, and clean and sanitize rooms. Audit charts for treatment plans, reviews, DAP notes, and technical requirements (RRC). Monitor self-administration of medications for clients as needed. Complete shift charting requirements and milieu report. Understand and follow CRMHS/Elahan Place Policies and Procedures. Preparing meals and kitchen duties. Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

Work Experience Requirements:

At least one year of experience in the mental health or social services work environment. Basic knowledge of state funding types. Must be able to perform under intense pressure, mediate disputes, and able to work in a team-oriented environment.

Education Requirements:

X High School diploma or GED

Associates of Arts degree specializing in Human Services or Behavioral Science

Bachelors degree specializing in Human Service or Behavioral Science

Credentialing Requirements: Registration specializing in Counseling in the State of Washington

X Certification specializing in First Aid/CPR , Food Handlers Card


MHP/MHS Eligible

Other Requirements:

Annual TB testing Maintain valid driver's license and appropriate automobile liability insurance

Other Skills/Abilities:

Good interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to communicate in a group, draw out answers, analyze information, imagination, and innovation. Team oriented, crisis responder, trouble shooter, and problem solver. Also, ability to work independently.

Job Scope:

Regular recurring work situations with occasional variations from the norm. Job involves a moderate degree of complexity. Operate from established and well known procedures. Operate independently-minimal supervision.

Communications/Customer Contact: Contacts are normally made with others both inside and outside the organization. Contacts are usually with own department staff and own supervisor. Contacts are usually made with other departments or locations. Contacts frequently contain confidential/sensitive information necessitating discretion at all times. 37.5% of contacts are by telephone and 62.5% on face to face. 65.75% of contacts are with customers and 34.25% with non-customers.
