Qualifications: College education in a discipline that enhances the ability to work with distressed and/or marginalized populations is preferred. Show a desire to work with vulnerable people. Willingness to function as a team player. The ability to multi-task in a fast-paced work environment. Demonstrate a variety of competent computer skills. Possess a drivers' license/insurance and be willing to operate a company owned vehicle as needed.

Job Description: This caseworker position is a key role in the effective delivery of a variety of social services. The employee is expected to conduct client assessments, collect personal data/history, determine eligibility for assistance, and conduct basic casework services.


Work collaboratively with others to accomplish common goals and objectives that promote the organization's mission, vision, and values.

Report directly to the casework supervisor regarding daily tasks.

Have all financial assistance approved by the director, accountant, or officer before issuing the assistance.

Conduct general casework for those in need of material, financial, social, and/or spiritual assistance. This includes but is not limited to conducting intake assessments, collecting personal/demographic data, developing case histories, advocating for clients, and providing information & referral services.

Work to provide immediate and/or long-term care within the limits of available resources, skills, and other boundaries as determined by the agency.

Perform daily computer work to maintain case files.

Work with a variety of funding sources as available and comply with funding requirements as directed.

Develop and maintain community contacts and resources for client needs and effective casework.

Go on home visits as needed for effective deployment of services and/or follow up.

Attend community forums and meetings as necessary for contract services and/or the effective working relationship with other service providers.

Do monthly, quarterly, and annual housing related reports as required for various reporting needs.

Assist with food pantry operations as needed. Example: relief for lunch/breaks and backup when food pantry intake worker is absent or unavailable.

Perform clerical duties as needed for department needs.

Attend meetings as requested.

Seasonal Duties:

Assist with the Angel Tree program in doing the intake, data entry, and support the distribution of toys to families for kids.

Physical Capabilities Required:

Ability to grasp, push, pull objects such as files, cabinet drawers, and reach overhead.

Ability to operate a complex multi-faceted telephone system.

Ability to operate a desktop and/or laptop computer.

Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.

Ability to access and produce information from a computer.

Ability to understand oral and written information.

Ability to walk, sit, stand, and bend intermittently and/or continuously.

Ability to exercise good hand eye coordination (using hand to hand, hand to finger, hand to object).

Ability to hear and speak clearly.

Ability to see clearly both up close and at a distance.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
