Job Description:

As one of the oldest, most successful Tier I carriers in North America with significant presence in Canada and the US, Allstream is uniquely positioned to succeed in the Wholesale market. This is an exciting opportunity to join our sales team as a Wholesale Sales Representative working with both existing and prospective customers.

Primary responsibilities for the role:

Overarching Responsibility: Grow Allstream's revenues with Wholesale Service Provider companies through new logo acquisition and managing the existing customer base. Reduce external cost identifying new supplier and reciprocal opportunities.

  1. Identify companies within the Wholesale marketplace that are prospective users and suppliers of Allstream's business services, primarily network-based solutions.

  2. Manage both the Buy and Sell side of Carrier Relations; supporting revenue growth and cost efficiencies to benefit Allstream's overall revenue portfolio.

  3. Identify the appropriate decision makers within these organizations, then create and execute contact plans.

  4. Identify the appropriate solutions, present solutions and close business resulting in incremental monthly revenue.

  5. Quickly establish relationships with the decision makers and Allstream service users within the existing wholesale customer base, identify opportunities for revenue growth and execute those sales plans.

  6. Must be comfortable leading ad hoc teams consisting of Account Consultants, Sales Engineers, Specialists, Product Managers and other team members from inside and outside the company.

  7. Substantial travel will be required.

Desired skills and attributes:

Demonstrated sales experience within the telecommunications industry; Experience working within a team environment and cross departmentally; 4 plus years' experience working with complex Carrier, Wholesale or National Customer Accounts.

  1. Existing relationships with decision makers in the Wholesale segment.

  2. Exceptional communication skills which demonstrate techniques in persuasion, selling, negotiation, conflict resolution and customer service.

  3. Possess a strong hunter sales mentality; able to generate your own leads and cultivate relationships with customers and prospects.

  4. Ability to present solutions in ways that are meaningful to customers.

  5. Able to use and navigate within

  6. Can identify new opportunities within the marketplace, articulate the value and impact of the opportunities and drive the company to address them.

  7. Self-sufficiency in Outlook, Excel, Word and other standard office applications.

  8. Proven time management and organizational skills, and ability to be self-directed.
