RNW Core Values -Accountability Compassion Continuous Improvement Customer Focus Integrity Quality TeamworkThe position of Referrals and Authorizations Specialist is full-time / 40 hours a week with benefits, working Monday-Friday at our Administrative office in Vancouver, WA. Retina Northwest offers a competitive salary, 100% paid employee benefits, holidays, a flexible paid time-off (PTO) program, 401K, and free parking at all locations.Referrals and Authorizations Specialist Description:Retina Northwest Referrals and Authorization Specialist verifies coverage eligibility and obtains benefit information in preparation for the patient experience. Our Referrals and Authorization Specialists assure authorization is obtained for all procedures and diagnostic testing prior to services being rendered; working closely with clinical staff, referring clinics, PCP clinics, scheduling and billing departments. In addition, they are responsible for a high volume of communications with insurance carriers and/or providers for purposes of obtaining approval and pre-certifications, using a variety of communication tools, coordinating those visits with the correct paperwork and insurance verification, along with accurate documentation in the patient's medical record. The Referrals and Authorization Specialist will establish and maintain long-term customer relationships, work effectively with patients, referring facilities, and team members.Education - HS Diploma or equivalent required.Experience - 1+ year experience Medical Referrals and Authorizations recommended; key boarding ability of 45 wpm, EHR experience preferred (NextGen experience desirable), knowledge of ophthalmic medical office preferred.Retina Northwest clinic locations:St. Vincent, East Pavilion, 6th Floor Sylvan Hill, Highlands Building, 2nd FloorVancouver, Stonemill Center Providence (Portland) Medical Center, 4th FloorOswego Towne Square, 1st Floor Providence (Seaside) Medical Center, 1st Floor
