MRI Technologist 36 hours/week

Job Description:

This is a 36 hour/week position with the following schedule:Friday 8-5pmSaturday 7am-8pmSunday 8-5pmThursday or Monday 8-5pmPerforms MRI imaging procedures per physicians orders utilizing knowledge and judgment in regard to, exposure factors, imaging technique, and patient treatment.Essential Functions:

  • Competency in the field of CT and/or MRI.
  • Positions patient for diagnostic imaging according to department procedures, training, and machine requirements.
  • Operates imaging equipment, determines and sets exposure factors, sets technique utilizing all relevant factors to ensure accurate and quality images with minimal and acceptable repeat rates.
  • Ability to manipulate scanner protocols to individualize exams to meet patient and radiologist needs.
  • Uses computer image processing to select and optimize images.
  • Protocols future exams to provide related patient information to radiologist for diagnosis.
  • Assists with patient transport by moving patients following TVC protocols.
  • Help maintain supply levels, expiration dates, and supply rotation.
  • Provide support to co-workers with challenging patient considerations or schedules.
  • Gathers complete documentation of all pertinent information to provide accurate and timely service to patients.
  • Provides for personal and patient care and safety using professional judgment in accordance with written standards so there is no injury to self or others.Education and Experience:
    • Graduate of certified Radiologic Technology school or program required.
    • Current American Heart Association Health Care Provider BLS CPR certification required.
    • ARRT registry in MRI strongly preferred.
      • At least one year previous experience in the field of MRI is preferred.
      • Proficient computer skills required.
      • Experience with EMR and PACS systems preferred.The above information is intended to indicate the general nature and level of work required in this position.
