Waste Connections has an immediate position open for a Recycling Advocate in Vancouver, WA. The schedule for this position will be Monday-Friday 6:00am-2:30pm. Respect for ourselves grows through all the hard work and great service we provide to the communities we are privileged to serve.Waste Connections of Washington, Inc. is currently hiring for a Recycling Advocate to join our team in Vancouver, WA as part of our contractual obligations with the City of Vancouver.Job Description:The Recycling Advocate will focus on the new curbside contamination reduction plan. This position will be visiting residential homes and apartment complexes to spread awareness and improve overall quality of recyclable materials in Clark County.

  • Visiting assigned areas on collection day and placing informational tags on recycling carts.
  • Delivering educational materials, inventorying, and surveying at apartment complexes.
  • Accurately collecting data and other information.
  • Responding to questions and concerns of the public in a professional, friendly, and respectful manner.
  • Tabling at events on the weekends and assisting other staff with small projects.
  • Other duties as assigned.Qualifications:
    • Familiarity with the Clark County region and recycling practices.
    • Ability to make judgement calls to maintain safety while walking and driving along streets.
    • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
    • Ability to walk long distances and up and down numerous flights of stairs.
    • Ability to drive a vehicle for long durations of time.
    • Ability to lift up to 25lb-boxes and other equipment using proper lifting techniques.
    • Must have a valid driver's license, proof of auto insurance, and a good driving record.Logistics:
      • 40 hour work-week.
