THE OPPORTUNITY
WFP Engineered Products is looking to hire a Process Control Specialist at our Calvert Division in Vancouver, WA.

What You'll Do: You will work with boots on the ground to observe firsthand how our existing processes work and collect meaningful data to inform improvement designs. You will work with all levels of the organization to develop improvement solutions to the business' operations.

    Work Environment: This role is to be performed in person at our Calvert operations site in Vancouver, WA.

    RESPONSIBILITIES
    • Champion safety leadership by actively participating in the operation's safety program, following all identified rules and regulations, and proactively encouraging others to do likewise
    • Develop and maintain a comprehensive approach to continuous improvement in all aspects of the operation, with a focus on improving efficiencies and cost control
    • Ensure that technical standards are defined, communicated, and controlled in the manufacturing process
    • Identify new engineered wood product opportunities that fit raw material and plant capabilities and oversee standards development and implementation
    • Coordinate improvement teams and external contractors
    • Create and present process improvement reports as requested
      QUALIFICATIONS

      Education And Experience
      • Experience in engineered wood products sales and manufacturing is preferred
      • Post-secondary degree in Business, Accounting, Wood Processing or Forestry related field
      • Experience with MS Office and lumber inventory management systems is preferred
      • Experience with scheduling and financial forecasting preferred
      • Supervisory experience is preferred
      • Experience with Lumber Grading and Tally Tickets preferred
        Skills, Knowledge and Required Competencies
        • Understanding of engineered wood products grades and standards
        • Demonstrated orientation towards continuous improvement
        • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
        • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills across all levels of an organization
        • Strong computer skills including spreadsheet and database applications
        • Ability to engage and motivate staff to perform at a higher standard
