#WFP2023THE OPPORTUNITYWhat You'll Do: Reporting to the Sawmill
Superintendent, the Saw Filing Supervisor is responsible for
leading the filing team to perform functions to support the safety,
efficiency and effectiveness of filing operations and associated
activities. You will be responsible for the creation and
maintenance of saw guides and maintaining guide planes. This role
also requires successfully coaching apprentices to learn the saw
filing trade and troubleshooting equipment as needed.Who You Are:
You have 3+ years of experience in benching both round and band
saws with knowledge of various types of machine center alignment
and ability to service all aspects of saw maintenance. You have
experience with the preventative maintenance process, understand
internal filing and have excellent analytical thinking skills.Our
total rewards offering includes:Salary range of $70,000 - $90,000
based on your skill level, qualifications, and

WA.RESPONSIBILITIESKey ResponsibilitiesEnsure Western Safety
Standards and initiatives are upheld by all in the Filing
DepartmentOversee day to day file room operations and QCSchedule
team members for base schedule and vacationsWork with Operations
and Maintenance department to achieve company and Division
GoalsLead the filing team to perform/coordinate functions to
support the safety, efficiency and effectiveness of filing
operations and associated activitiesBenching, tipping, grinding and
fitting bandsawsSharpening, tipping and benching round sawsHoning
and maintaining knivesCreate and maintain saw guides and guide
plansComplete PMs for sawmill and saw shop machinery as
requiredParticipate in reliability task teams or activities as
requiredCoach apprentices/operators to learn saw filing trade and
help with PMsTroubleshoot equipment and assist maintenance in
repair of filing room equipmentFinancial PerformanceManage Saw and
Knive performance and budget to meet organizational goals and
objectivesOperationsWork closely with Operations leadership to
align with key performance indicators for safety, throughput, and
customer specifications.LeadershipChampion team norms and standards
with a clear focus in active participation in the Safety
ProgramFlexibility to meet changing needs within the
businessQuickly and effectively lead change in response to business
needsLead the team by proactively resolving employee issues,
building teamwork, and ensuring adherence to all applicable site

mannerQUALIFICATIONSEducation and ExperienceMinimum 3 years of
experience benching both round saws and band saws.Knowledge of
different types of machine center alignment and the ability to

CompetenciesUnderstanding of process reliability and how to
maintain shop standards.Experience with Inspecting and maintaining
precision equipment for proper calibration.Understanding of
internal filing shop quality control.Excellent communication and

perform all aspects of maintenance activities.Superior analytical
and troubleshooting skills with eye on detail.Good interpersonal
